Римский католик. Это выражение является примером североирландского сленга и образовалось из ряда шуток и насмешек над жителями Эйра (сейчас Ирландская Республика), в основном католиков. Их считали настолько глупыми, что говорили, якобы крестьяне там начинали вскапывать землю, нажимая на лопату левой ногой, хотя, конечно, удобнее это делать правой, более сильной ногой.
